Australia lifted the Women’s 50 over World Cup as they beat England by 71 runs in the final.
England won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Teams generally decide to bat first ina high pressure game but, England did the opposite.
The decision didn’t quite go right as Australia scored a mammoth total of 356 runs.
Healy had the final to remember as she scored an inspiring generational inning of 170 runs hitting 25 fours.
Haynes and Mooney also scored 68 and 62 respectively.
But, the spotlight of the inning was Healy.
Shrubsole was the one who bagged 3 wickets for England.
In response to Australia and to win the World Cup,England had to do something exceptional.
England started the inning with not so good start and none of the batters were able to stay at the crease.
But, England had their moment too as Sciver was the one from their side who took the matter into her hands.
She scored a brilliant 148 runs hitting 15 fours and a six.
But, none of the other players were providing the support.
Alana King and Jonassen got 3 wickets each and Schutt got 2.
As a result England lost the match and the World Cup.
Alyssa Healy won the award for Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament for her exquisite performances throughout the cup.
Australia was the favourite to win the cup and they didn’t let their supporters down.
