On Friday night, Championship side Middlesbrough beat Man Utd (8-7) on penalties with Elanga missing the penalty for Man Utd in the shootout. After 90 minutes the game was level at (1-1) and extra time ended without any goals.

Earlier in the match, Jadon Sancho put the red devils on the front as he scored in the 25th minute.Later in the second half M. Crooks took Middlesbrough to level terms.

The main highlight of the match came in the 20th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo missed from the spot.Also, a VAR controversy in the Middlesbrough goal also covered the headlines as the ball hit the arm of M. Crooks moments before hitting the net.But the goal wasn’t ruled out because of a change in the handball rules.

Red devils dominated 71% of the possession and had 24 shots.Now, Manchester United is out of the FA CUP.

In the league Red Devils are fighting for a top 4 finish and are yet to face Atletico Club de Madrid in Champions League R16.

Now, Man Utd’s hopes for a trophy are diminishing as season is approaching towards the end.
