Day 1 of IPL Auction has ended and there are some big surprises.


All the teams have tried their level best to strengthen their sides for the upcoming season of the Tata IPL.

As the first day of IPL Auction has ended, we have many surprising bids from the teams.

But, the big talking point of the day was a negative one as the auctioner of this year’s IPL Auction Hugh Edmeades collapsed in the middle of the auction. The auction resumed at 3:30 PM. Doctors have said that the condition of the auctioner is stable.

Defending Champions CSK tried to maintain their core team with the signings of Ambati Rayudu, DJ Bravo and Robbin Utthappa. Chennai also secured the services of their very own medium pacer Deepak Chahar for a whopping 14Cr.However, they missed on their veteran Faf Du Plessis as he was secured by RCB.

Other teams have also tried their best to retake some of their players from last season.With Ishan Kishan being the biggest buy for 15.25 Cr.He will be back to Mumbai.Mumbai has also secured M. Ashwin’s services for 1.6Cr.

KKR has done some serious business with getting Shreyas Iyer for 12.25 Cr.

Other big buys include Shikhar Dhawan to Punjab Kings, Ravi Ashwin and Trent Boult to Rajasthan Royals,Krunal Pandya to Lucknow.

Also, there were some big misses who will get chance on the day 2 which include: Suresh Raina, Steve Smith, David Miller, Imran Tahir, Adam Zampa , Matthew Wade, W. Saha and Shakib Al Hassan.

Day 2 of the auction will continue tomorrow with teams battling for players and building their squads.
