England beat India by 4 wickets in the ongoing Women’s Cricket World Cup.
Earlier,England won the toss at Bay Oval and elected to field first.
India had a very poor start or should I quote “a very poor inning” as the players never looked settlee on the pitch.
For, India Smriti Mandhana scored 35 runs but, no other players stepped up and India were bowled out for only 134 runs.
Richa Ghosh scored 33 runs in the lower middle order and no other big name players were able to put their mark.
For England,Charlotte Dean bagged 4 wickets and Shrubsole got 2 wickets.
Ecclestone and Cross also got a wicket each.
In response to India’s very low total England had a horrible start with both openers getting out for 1 run each.
But,Heather Knight and Sciver stepped on to the scene and scored 53 and 45 runs each.
England won the match with 4 wickets in hand.
For India,Meghna Singh grabbed 3 wickets and Jhulan, Gayakwad and Vastrakar got one wicket each.
Charlotte Dean won the award for player of the match award for getting 4 crucial wickets.
Now,India has lost two games in the tournament and will face mighty Australia on 19th March.
