India beat WI by 6 wickets in the 1st t20 international.


India played WI in the 1st t20 international and beat them comfortably with 6 wickets in hand.

Match took place at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. After winning the toss India decided to bowl first as they restrict WI to a total of 157 runs in 20 overs for the fall of 7 wickets.

For WI Nicholas Pooran scored 61 runs and Kyle Mayers scored 31 with captain Pollard scoring 24.Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel picked two wickets each for India.

In response India chased down the total with 7 balls to spare. For India captain Rohit Sharma scored a blistering 40(19) and Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Koshan both scored 34 and 35 runs each. For WI Chase took 2 wickets with Allen and Cottrel getting 1 each. MOTM award was given to Ravi Bishnoi for his 2 wickets for 17 runs.

Now, India lead the series 1-0 and second t20i will be played on 18th Feb.
