Senegal lifts AFCON, outscored Egypt on Penalties.

Sadio Mane ‘s Senegal are the champions of AFCON as they beat Mo Salah’s Egypt in the penalties.

Senegal was clearly looking the better side in the course of the whole game. They enjoyed 62% of the ball possession. Their full backs were coming very up the pitch and were delivering a lot of crosses only the final product was missing.

Coming to Sadio Mane, he was trying but was not able to do much. As he also missed from the spot in the 7th minute as the goalkeeper stopped his shot brilliantly.

On the other hand Mo Salah was looking completely out of the game except for some flashes where he dribbled the centre halves.

Match ended at (0-0) after 120 minutes.

Coming to penalties, Senegal outscored Egypt (4-2) and Mane was the one scoring the final penalty.

Egypt’s goalkeeper Abougabal was clearly their best player on the pitch. As he saved their team in the whole game and also saved a penalty in the shootout. Interestingly, Senegal aimed all their penalties on the right side oh the keeper and keeper went the right way on every shot and saved one.

On the other hand, Egypt missed one penalty by hitting the post and Chelsea star Edu Mendy saved one hit by Lasheen. The talking point of the shootout was Mo Salah not taking spot kick for the Egyptians.

Mo Salah is the main man of the Egypt team but he didn’t take the penalty maybe he was supposed to take the last one but the game concluded earlier than that.

Senegal deservingly won the match and lifted the AFCON.

Now, teams will focus on the world Cup 2022 Qatar which will take place in the month of November and December.
